Organised by the Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC) and the Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM) the Halal Transformation Programme is aimed to create greater awareness of Halal integrity and standards in product development.

The HTP – the first of its kind for the Halal industry – acts as a platform for gathering and encouraging Halal industry players, existing and potential, to build stronger relationships through industry engagement and promotional initiatives that will be a new source for economic growth.

The Halal industry is growing by leap and bounds, strengthened by the resounding and growing demand of Halal consumers worldwide. With a USD2.3 trillion market on track, more Halal certified products are joining the vast array of Halal goods and products in the market place.

The programme received an overwhelming response largely from the small business community and general public, who showed an interest in Halal industry development and business opportunities. With its highlighted divisions of Economy, Education and Edutainment, the programme also hosted a full-scale exhibition of close to 100 pavilions, a half-day seminar on issues related to the development of the Halal industry, and business matching platforms for those active in the Halal industry.

New concepts such as contract farming and Halal entrepreneurship training was also introduced to the participants. Several multinationals and GLCs have also been invited to share their business knowledge, collaboration experience and production strengths in the Halal industry.
