Does this mean Domino’s Pizza or Pizza Hut or any customers of Lucky Frozen is not halal too?

We actually felt sorry for Lucky Frozen. From their feedback, it seems this ‘revelation’ by JAKIM totally caught them off guard. The mostly Muslim Malay workers have been buying the raw materials and producing them as normal when news broke out on JAKIM’s website saying they had found porcine DNA in their products. Surely the workers would have known if something had gone wrong somewhere, wouldn’t you think?

And here’s the kicker: Lucky Frozen had done 2 counter tests at independent labs and they both came back negative. They submitted to JAKIM their findings and JAKIM’s reaction was simply to brush them aside. Somehow professionalism and good ethics wasn’t in their vocabulary.

And Lillahi ta’ala, by Allah SWT, this was what had been told to me by Maria, the company’s Halal compliance officer. If any of this is incorrect, it is because I got it wrongly. May Allah protect the weak and the wronged and punish the evil-doers.
