Penang has a lot to offer for Middle East tourists as there are plenty of Halal eateries and accommodations in one of the greenest, cleanest and safest states in Malaysia.

Chief Minister Mr Lim Guan Eng said, Penang not only offers the best product that is value of money, but also a rich heritage and multicultural society to showcase to tourists from all over the world.
“Middle Eastern tourists are definitely coming to Penang. Take a stroll around Batu Feringghi or Penang Hill and you would think you’re in an Arab country. But besides Halal food, we need to include other factors that make Penang special,” he said.
“What we have been concentrating on for the past 3-4 years is improvement and general upgrading of infrastructures and facilities for tourists around Penang. Ultimately, these will encourage them to tell their friends. Over time, we would have developed a quality fan base for Penang and that’s what’s important,” he added.
He also highlighted the fact that the Penang International Halal HUB (PIHH) is now Malaysia’s second leading Halal hub after Selangor. Business-conscious Arabs should also consider investing in the state and make Penang their second home, he said.
“Penang International Halal Hub is the second largest Halal hub project in Malaysia and this in itself speaks volume of the confidence investors place in our projects and our capabilities to deliver,” he said.
